Resident Assistant

 

December to February

 

The Resident Assistant (RA) primarily fosters a sense of community among the residents of a residential community and promotes a balanced, responsible, and respectable atmosphere that is safe, friendly, and supportive. RAs accomplish this by assisting residents with their adjustment to campus and community living, providing leadership for residential activities, and encouraging residents to become involved with the CUA community. RAs also share information for Residence Life and Housing Services and direct students to the appropriate offices when they express concerns.

Community Development Assistant

 

March to April

 

The Community Development Assistant (CDA) is responsible for assisting the Area Coordinator in administering a residential program in a neighborhood housing approximately 600 students. This ten-month position includes primarily administrative, managerial, and educational functions that are performed to provide an environment conducive to good scholarship, intellectual stimulation, and social development. Working 19 hours per week, the CDA responsibilities will be in the Centennial Village, North Neighborhood 2, and South Neighborhoods.

Office Manager

March to April

The Office Manager (OM) is responsible for assisting the Area Coordinator (AC) in administering a residential program in a complex housing unit of 200-600 students. This ten-month position includes management of the administrative and educational functions of the operation of the Residence Hall Office (RHO). The OM assists the Area Coordinator with the functional supervision of Office Assistants (OA) and in the completion of administrative duties.

Office Assistant

August

Office Assistants staff Residence Hall Offices (RHOs) and assist with the management of administrative functions of residential neighborhoods. This position allows students to practive strong customer service skills, develop good administrative practices, and become involved with the support of the residential neighborhood.

Hall Security Assistant

August & January

The Hall Security Assistant (HSA) is a part-time staff member of Residence Life under the supervision of each neighborhood's Area Coordinator. HSAs staff hall desks and assist Residence Life ith administering the campus visitation policy, monitoring residence hall access, and providing information to hall residents. The HSA role encourages the formation of a productive, responsible, and enjoyable living environment.
