The Catholic University of America

The Cardinal Residential Experience

Living on campus can be one of the most beneficial aspects of a student's college years. The opportunity to live and interact with other students will open a broad range of experiences and encourage students to become positive contributing members of their communities. As a staff of professionals in student affairs, Residence Life is committed to the following:

Self. Spirituality. Society. Scholarship.

Guided by the Catholic tradition, students will be provided with opportunities to develop self-awareness, establish a commitment to social responsibility, and cultivate a passion for learning through living cooperatively and engaging in opportunities to learn and apply life skills.

The Cardinal Residential Experience has five learning outcomes which are the skills, knowledge, or competencies that a student will have the opportunity to learn while living on campus. When students leave CUA's residential community, they should have had the opportunity to:

  • develop self-awareness
  • establish a committment to social responsibility
  • cultivate a passion for learning
  • live cooperatively
  • learn and apply life skills
